Dodge Durango and more!

Published by Brant Peery under Family Life

r_durango2006.jpgWell its new to me anyways. It is a 2006 Dodge Durango. It has the V-8 4.7L in it to haul my camp trailer all over the countryside. I had a heck of a time getting my wife to agree to buy this little beauty. She is too practical to WANT to buy an impractical vehicle. The biggest think for her was that it only gets 19 mpg on the freeway and 14 mpg in town. She wanted something that would haul the kids and get really good mileage. Well I wanted a vehicle that a man would be proud to be driving. She wanted an Acura (nice cars, but not able to tow a camp trailer). I had to really talk to get her to buy this. However, like always, the people at 20th Century Ford treated me right, and they were able to get me the vehicle at a price that even my wife wouldn’t turn down.
Matt and ChelseaOn a more different note, I was able to see my newly wed cousin Matt and met his wife Chelsea. They really are great people. Makes me wish they lived closer so I could hang with them more often. We had a reception of sorts for them at grandma Christensen’s house Saturday night. A lot of people came that I had not see for quite some time. Some of those people I haven’t seen since I lived in Shelly (we moved when I was about 4). They thought my kids looked just they way they remembered me. It was weird to talk to them about the way I was. My kids do a lot of the same things they said I did. But I bet a lot of kids do the same stuff.
This morning we were back over at grandma’s house to celebrate the baby blessing of Genices’ new boy. It was good to have more time to talk to every one in a less busy situation. Matt and I got to chat quite a bit while I was working on his computer. He is having problems with his laptop acting really slow (he had 70 processes running at startup). I fixed some of it, but was interrupted by lunch and didn’t get the rest done. I hope that it was enough to help him in his plight because it was really slow.
The rest of the day was just kinda lazy. We went to Nikkii’s to play volley ball. Which we did for about an hour. Then I got tired (I didn’t get my Sunday nap yet!) so I fell asleep on the lawn. We left and came home because Darren wanted to watch the BSU game and it was playing only on ESPN so he had to go to Grandpa Peery’s to watch it.
